The sun was already setting in Iwa no Kuni. Tsukiko, the young woman that held the title of "Nidaime Tsuchisenkou", sat behind her desk. The day had been uneventful so far. It was just the usual mountain of paper work for her. It was remarkable for anyone around her how obediently and seemingly untiringly Tsukiko worked on the papers. She, herself being trained as a shinobi, wondered what it was like to be on a mission, like the ones she assigned to the small force under her command. The thought of that made her sigh a little bit. She wanted to experience at least once the rush of a mission, but alas, her family forbade her to do so.
"You can go home now. Iīll be going to bed soon, and Iīm sure that you want, too. Please, donīt worry about me, itīll be fine. Iīm safe here.", she assured the two guards in front of her door. Although they naturally hesitated, they soon saw that it made no sense to argue. For one, Tsuu-hime didnīt really back down in an argument when it was beneficial for someone else, and they really were tired, and longed to get home to their families. So, they then nodded, wished her a good night and left her posts.
By now, the sun had set already, and the light in her office faded. Now, even Tsukiko couldnīt hold back a small yawn, but sat down at her desk nevertheless. The stack of papers had decreased quite a bit already, and she was determined to finish it before she went to sleep. Most were reports from missions... she liked to read those the most. But from one of her latest reports, Tsukiko had learned of a strange group called Ichi... Icha.. something. Although she had thought nothing much of the name, the report went on to saying that they were rogue-nins. That sorta excited her, the thought of freedom had crossed her mind a few times, but always, here sense of duty towards her people kept her in check, and scolded her for thinking so childishly. And so, Tsukiko kept reading through the reports, as the darkness in her room was growing despite the lamp on her desk...

This darkness had a purpose. And this purpose's source wasn't very impressed with this village. Bad area, mostly weak shinobi. Hell, he managed to sneek into the main tower of the village without anyone noticing. He managed to get in her without catching her attention. Hagane gave himself some credit on this but in the end, it was poor for any shinobi to lower their gaurd by this much, especially one this high in rank. He wondered how she could even attain this kind of rank in that sense. He merely shrugged his shoulders as his presence created a growing darkness, his wind chakra was now causing the air in the area to grow opaque in a sense. Somewhat anyway.
And then, it came. He could only hold it in for so long before it happened. A chuckle. A single one that would give away his presence. The bingo book on the table had the winds blowing it open, revealing the page on Hagane himself on purpose. He chuckled again, no longer needing to hide himself. After all, all the guards to this tower were already dead. If they were actually skilled shinobi it would be a pity. But nevertheless, no pity for them. Just more death. Hagane's specialty. The third chuckle rang through the room, Hagane using the wind to create a false echo in the room. Dramatics were always important when it came to situations like this.
His form was then finally revealed, a poof of smoke, and a chair in the room that really didn't belong transformed into Hagane, Kiri's most deadly and highest ranking Nukenin. His fourth chuckle escaped his lips as he made his presence known. ."Well....well.....wellll. What a pitiful sight you are. Letting me inside your village, let alone you office undetected, is such a disgraceful act for a shinobi that watches over it with a careful eye now, isn't it?" Hagane said as he vanished and reappeared right behind Tsuu-hime. "Don't bother calling for help, anyone within earshot of your highest scream is already dead. However, they say your the negotiator here. So, negotiate with me this: a reason not to destroy this pitiful empire of yours. Hehehehehehe" Hagane said as he stood right behind Tsukiko, his voice seeping with murderous intent as soon enough, his infamous poisoned blades rested themselves right next to Tsukiko's arm, ready to be used if needed and easily within her sight.

Tsukikos head, which hung a bit groggily, snapped upwards as soon as the spooky sound of a chuckle. She looked around, her eyes poorly adjusting to the dark, but one thing she caught was the extra chair in her room. Just as this came to her conscious, said chair transformed to a person, male, presumably, and since the chuckles belonged to him, clearly male. She was about to get up from her chair, as cold metal against the skin of her arm told her otherwise. She was effectively silenced by this, and was forced to listen to the introduction of the assassin.
Even if she tried to get a grip on herself, even if the claim that everyone in the vicinity that could help her was dead was in fact a lie... the mere cruelness to make a statement like that made her cringe. It.. couldnīt be, right? "Compose yourself... donīt show any signs of fear.", she told herself, reciting one of her previous tutors.
Tsukiko said in her chair, unmoving. If the intruder wanted to play games (which was obvious since he didnīt kill her, even though he was able to in the moment), she wouldnīt give him the joy of playing along. "How can I negotiate if I donīt know who wishes to talk?", she asked as calmly and composed as possible, and her fear was only very faintly audible. Being an ambassador and taught to withstand various psychologically stressing situations paid off.
As collected as possible, Tsukiko then took the next report from the now nearly non-existent stack, and flipped it open, ignoring the threat right next to her as good as possible. Her goal was to intimidate him just as he tried to do the same. It had to be fate that just that report was another one about the group Ichimyou, although since Tsukiko had no idea of the identity of her attacker yet, this meant nothing to her.
